Porter, located at 1100 Ave at Port Imperial, Weehawken, is the newest addition to the string of notable restaurants popping up around Port Imperial. The spacious restaurant is beautifully situated on the ground level of the RiverHouse11 luxury apartments and is home to 115 seats with plans to add 80 more seats outdoors once the weather is appropriate. As Port Imperial continues to expand, Porter will serve as a perfect blue print for an evolving foodie friendly neighborhood.
Executive Chef Christopher Lim and Executive Pastry Chef Tara Glick are the creative dynamic duo heading the dinning experience at Porter. We had the pleasure of speaking with Tara who shared with us a little bit about her expanding role as a restauranteur. Although her initial calling was in Pastry, in recent years Tara has stepped into the beverage department becoming proficient and passionate about the study of wine and spirits. Tara used her expertise to develop a well rounded bar program at Porter that offers selections to flawlessly pair with your dishes. While Tara spends a lot of her time on the floor, Chef Chris Lim continues to lead a talented kitchen who is focused on seasonal, high quality ingredients and creative concepts.
The restaurants ambiance is perfect for a weekend date-night, a friend filled night out, and it’s easily digestible menu also deems this eatery as a family friendly weeknight spot. Porter has also recently opened their Provisions counter which offers fresh baked goods, La Colombe coffee, and other market type items like jams, condiments and sauces.
