Dining With Tim: Tuna Salad

Recipe – Yields 3 Servings 

Ingredients:

1/2 pound Tuna

 1 stalk celery

1 green onion

1/2 cup mayonnaise 

1/4 cup Dijon 

1/2 T honey 

1/4 t cumin

 1/4 t celery seed

 2 t salt 

2 t pepper 

Directions: 

In a small sauce pot, boil tuna for 10 minutes Remove tuna from sauce pot and transfer it to a ice bath While the tuna is cooling, small dice celery stalk and green onion. Set aside.By this time, the tuna should be cooled Remove tuna form ice bath and break tuna apart with hands Don’t over work the tuna into shreds because traditionally you want to see your nice pieces of freshly cooked tuna Add in mayonnaise and Dijon, fold it in Add your celery and green onion along with your honey, cumin, celery seed, salt and pepper.Adjust seasoning to your liking. Serve cold on a salad, wrap, sandwich or by itself.
