Dining With Tim: Apple Cider Donuts

APPLE CIDER DONUTS
1 stick sweet cream cutter 1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup dark brown sugar 1 cup ap flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbs cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp apple pie spice
1 large egg, room temperature 1/4 cup apple cider
1 tsp vanilla
FOR SUGAR COATING 2 cups sugar
2 tbs cinnamon
1 tsp apple pie spice
1 stick sweet cream butter
Preheat oven to 350F
Add softened stick of butter to mixer with white and brown sugar, mix on medium high speed until creamed.
Separate. bowl, mix all dry ingredients and mix well.
Add dry ingredients from bowl to stand mixer and mix on medium low
Add egg to the mixer along side with vanilla
Pour apple cider in mixer at a steady slow stream
Mix on medium speed for 5 seconds after apple cider is all poured, don’t over mix
Add donut mix to piping bag or a good storage bag and cut the tip of about 1/4 inch
Spray donut pan with pan spray
Pipe mix into donut pans about 2/3 from the top
Bake for 15 – 20 minutes until donuts have risen and are golden on the edges
Let cool for 5 minutes and remove from pan
Brush donuts with melted butter
Coat in cinnamon sugar mix and serve warm or room temp
