the Covid-19 Elixir

1 oz. Whiskey/Bourbon

1 cup Hot Water

Juice of half a Lemon

1 tsp Honey

1 tsp Turmeric

A few sprigs of Thyme

Begin your elixir by boiling some hot water as if you were making tea. Pour a cup into your favorite mug and squeeze half a lemon into the water. I always like to drop in the lemon half after juicing, this will allow you to add more water for a second cup of lemon water. Add your Whiskey or Bourbon of choice and stir in the honey and turmeric. Finish your elixir by adding some whole thyme stems.

Hot Water: Covid-19 is said to create thick mucus in your lungs that hardens. Drinking hot fluids will help loosen thick mucus.

Lemon: packed with nutrients including vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and fiber. The vitamin C in lemons can help alleviate stress and fight viral infections and sore throats.

Honey: phytonutrients in honey are responsible for its antioxidant properties. They’re thought to be the reason why raw honey is considered an immunity booster. Although Honey does not combat Covid-19, use it to get your body chemistry right.

Turmeric: medicinal properties help reduce inflammation. It is advised to stay away from anti inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen if you suspect having Covid-19. Substitute turmeric daily to boost your defenses.

Thyme: not only boosts your immunity, but also your mood.

Whiskey/Bourbon: This ingredient is what i call a “night off”. While we are all occupied getting as healthy as possible to prepare for the possibility of getting covid-19, it is also important to take a night off. I use very little (1 oz) of bourbon, just enough to relax myself into the couch with a good movie.

Alcohol has been proven to dehydrate and deteriorate immunity so if you do not feel well, do not include alcohol in your elixir.
