Local Chefs Duel for the Best Soup Continues
The Rotary Club of Hunterdon County are hosting their 13th Annual
Hunterdon County Soup Cook-Off on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Commons, 29 Junction Road, Flemington, NJ, 08822.
20 local restaurants entered their favorite soup, competing for the “Best Soup in Hunterdon County” title. 1st Place for People’s Choice was Matt’s Red Rooster for their Rustic Wild Mushroom Soup; 2nd Place was Mt. View Chalet for their Butternut Squash Soup; 3rd Place was Clean Plate Kitchen for their Vegan Red Curried Sweet Potato and Carrot Soup.
Judge’s Choice 1st Place went to Homestead Butcher Shop for their Roasted
Butternut Squash Bisque Soup; 2nd Place was Clean Plate Kitchen for their Vegan Red Curried Sweet Potato and Carrot Soup; 3rd Place was Cafe Galleria for their Ginger Carrot Bisque Soup.
The Hunterdon County Rotary Soup Cook-Off is a community awareness project of the Rotary Clubs of Hunterdon County, dedicated to helping people in their community. The proceeds of this event, totaling nearly $10,000 annually, are donated to the 6 food pantries of Hunterdon County to fight HUNGER IN HUNTERDON! In addition to the entrance fee of $15.00, attendees are asked to please bring a can of food as a donation to the local food pantries.
